Interim Financial Reporting Manager

Hybrid (2 days a week at site - Derbyshire)

£400-£500 a day (outside IR35)

Interim Opportunity

Eaton Syalon require an Audit trained ACA qualified Accountant to join our client for the next 9-12 months on an interim basis.

Key responsibilities

Year-End Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies.

Audit Preparation:

  • Coordinate and prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for external auditors.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the audit team, addressing queries and providing documentation as needed.
  • Review internal processes and ensure all necessary audit evidence is available.

Financial Controls and Compliance:

  • Ensure the business is compliant with relevant financial regulations and internal controls.
  • Conduct reviews of financial records, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and completeness.

Balance Sheet Reconciliations:

  • Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies prior to audit.
  • Ensure that all year-end adjustments are recorded accurately.

Year-End Closing:

  • Oversee the year-end close process, including accruals, prepayments, and adjusting journal entries.
  • Ensure that financial systems are updated and reflect accurate year-end data.

Management Information and Reporting:

  • Assist with the preparation of management accounts and provide analysis on financial performance.
  • Liaise with internal teams to gather data required for final reporting.

Liaison with Internal Stakeholders:

  • Work closely with key stakeholders such as finance, tax, and legal teams to ensure seamless year-end processes.
  • Communicate updates on progress and potential issues related to the audit preparation.

Process Improvements:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, particularly around year-end closing and audit preparation.
  • Implement any necessary changes to improve efficiency and accuracy for future audits.

Ad-Hoc Financial Support:

  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by the management team or audit committee.
  • Support with any special projects or reporting requirements that arise during the interim period.
