The Management Recruitment Group is seeking an Interim Fire Safety and Compliance Manager for a public sector client in Sandwell.
About the role
As Interim Fire Safety and Compliance Manager you will be responsible for: -
- Carrying out fire safety compliance and risk assessments
- Development and implementation of fire safety policies and procedures in accordance with current legislations
- Identification of potential fire hazards, implementing risk reduction measures, and ensuring corrective actions are completed
- Overseeing maintenance of fire safety systems and equipment, including alarms, fire doors, fire stopping, sprinklers, extinguishers, and emergency lighting
- Coordination with external contractors for fire system testing, inspection, and repairs as required
- Carrying out regular inspections of emergency exits and fire routes, ensuring they remain accessible and clear of obstructions
- Maintaining up-to-date records of all fire safety checks, equipment maintenance, and compliance.
Candidate Requirements
- NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate or equivalent fire safety qualification
- Demonstrable experience in a fire safety role, ideally within an educational or public building environment
- Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation and risk assessment practices
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deliver training effectively
- Detail-oriented and proactive in identifying and mitigating fire safety risks
- Able to start immediately
