Job Description :

Are you a Finance Business Partner with systems implementation project experience? Do you have a strong understanding of budgeting and forecasting in a large organisation? Are you looking for a role in which you’ll support the end-to-end lifecycle of a system implementation?

My client is a West Midlands-based Housing Association that is looking for an Interim Project Finance Business Partner (System Implementation) on a 12-month FTC to support the rollout of a new finance system. This is a critical project that will modernise financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading business discovery and process design ahead of implementation.
  • Acting as the core interface between finance and the project team, ensuring business needs are prioritised in system design.
  • Managing and directing a small finance team supporting on the delivery of the project.
  • Driving change management, upskilling budget holders, and ensuring finance teams adopt new ways of working.
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders across multiple business units to deliver an intuitive and effective system.
  • Supporting tender activity and onboarding, working alongside the Head of Finance Systems and PM team.
  • Leading business readiness activities and ensuring alignment on design, testing, training, and rollout, and supporting on teething issues post go-live.

This is a hands-on Business Partnering and Project Accounting role requiring someone who has been through full-phase finance system projects while maintaining a strong grasp of core finance. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning within a large and complex organisation. The postholder will be required to identify the balance between home and office working themselves, with a strong degree of flexibility while ensuring the needs of the project are met.

To be considered, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Experience in full-cycle finance system implementations from discovery to go-live.
  • A background in Finance Business Partnering with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A strategic mindset while being happy to get into the detail when required.
  • Leadership experience, having managed at least one person.
  • A background in Housing, Social Housing, or a similarly complex sector is a plus.
