Interim Risk and Assurance Lead - Robertson Bell : Job Details

Robertson Bell are supporting a well-known Central Government department to recruit an interim Risk and Assurance Lead to undertake some key project work, as well as add resilience to the team.   

Our client is London-based but incredibly flexible when it comes to office attendance, likely offering the ability to be in as little as 2-3 times per month.

Key responsibilities will include;

• Mapping the existing assurance process across multiple different business areas, with a focus on first and second line support.
• Mapping the organisations control framework, in particular financial controls.
• Reviewing risk returns from across the business to identify those that require further investigation.
• Supporting the development of other team members by sharing extensive knowledge and experience.

The successful candidate will have;

• Significant experience in risk management, assurance, governance and financial control.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and proactively.
• Excellent people skills, including stakeholder management and team development.

Knowledge of public sector finance and/or an accounting qualification is highly desirable but not essential.

This role requires SC Clearance so, if you don't currently possess this then you will need to be eligible and willing to undergo these checks.
