We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Interim Management Accountant to cover a 9-month maternity leave for a £50 million turnover business. Reporting directly to James, our appointed Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial stability and integrity of the company during this period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the monthly management accounts, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Conduct comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations, including prepayments and accruals.
- Lead the finance team, comprising one Financial Accountant, one Management Accountant, and two administrative staff.
- Enhance the management accounts and board pack to provide greater financial insight.
- Develop and maintain a detailed cash flow forecast, with comparisons to budget and actuals.
- Create and manage a stock tiering policy, emphasising key commercial KPIs.
- Lead the external audit process with Alexander + Co, ensuring all requirements are met.
- Oversee VAT and tax compliance, including UK, EU, and US regulations.
- Facilitate internal upskilling sessions to enhance non-finance employees' understanding of financial reporting and business performance.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in a senior management accountant role, ideally within a medium to large-sized business.
- Fully Qual ACCA/ACA/CIMA
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Navision
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage the finance team.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to provide insightful financial commentary.
