About the Role
As an Internal Sales Representative, you will promote and sell a variety of products, including aluminium, titanium, steel, and other metals to the aerospace industry. Reporting to the Sales Manager, your focus will be on developing and maintaining relationships with customers, processing orders, and supporting the overall sales strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain a customer base within your assigned region.
- Reactivate dormant accounts and cold-call potential new customers.
- Ensure all customer records are up-to-date.
- Customer Service:
- Provide prompt responses to customer enquiries, including order statuses, quotes, and technical information.
- Maintain excellent communication via phone, email, and meetings.
- Order Processing:
- Process and acknowledge customer orders using the company’s system.
- Update relevant records, including quotations and orders.
- Sales Strategy:
- Actively promote new products to existing and potential customers.
- Support sales initiatives and provide feedback to management on market trends and competitor activity.
- Credit & Account Management:
- Address credit issues and monitor account statuses to ensure smooth transactions.
- Team Participation:
- Attend sales meetings and contribute to discussions, offering ideas and suggestions for improvement.
Health, Safety & Environment
- Follow company health and safety policies at all times.
- Report any accidents or hazards immediately.
- Wear appropriate protective gear when required.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Strong academic background (GCSE/A-levels or equivalent).
- Customer-facing experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the aerospace industry and related materials.
- Experience with CRM and ERP systems (e.g. Estel).
- Additional language skills (e.g. French or Spanish).
Personal Qualities
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Team player with good time management.
- Willingness to travel and work extra hours when required.
