Our client is actively searching for a global payroll expert to join their team as their International & Expat Payroll Lead.

This position is an office-based role, working 4-5 days per week in the London office.

The International & Expat Payroll Specialist will take the lead on strategic and operational, global payroll processing.

This position requires experience in both US and UK / EMEA payroll processing. The ideal applicant will have years of proven experience working within an international HR function managing global and expat payroll using Workday.

You’ll have the chance to manage and devolve a growing payroll footprint within a high-touch environment with a continued focused on efficiency and technology automation.

Scope of the role includes:

  • Lead global payroll operations and strategic initiatives such as new country setups
  • Process US and UK / EMEA payroll in-house within Workday and also via vendors where necessary
  • Review current payroll operating processes globally and implement new processes by leveraging technology
  • Regularly updates payroll procedure, policy and documentation on HR confluence pages
  • Work closely with HRIS team on Workday Payroll configuration which includes; updates, testing, mapping etc.
  • Reviews and manages 3rd party supplier services and contracts.
  • Acts as a coach and mentor to the payroll team to optimise overall performance
  • Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment, payroll and benefits as well as expatriate payroll compliance.

Requirements for the role:

  • Strong experience managing and processing global payroll with at least 5 years experience
  • Strong IT and HR-related systems experience using systems such as; Workday (essential requirement), SharePoint, Microsoft Excel and Confluence
  • Sound knowledge of agile payroll processes
  • Knowledge of expat payroll, compliance, general payroll practices and HR
  • Dedicated to innovation, process improvement and HR best practices
  • Adaptable to change and someone who can thrive within an ever-changing environment
  • Strong analytical skills, meticulous and detail-oriented
  • A self-start who has a desire for continued learning
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to engage and communicate with stakeholders at all levels
