IS Business Analyst needed in Liverpool £27.58ph PAYE - Reference: 364545
The Business Analyst is responsible for investigating and analysing different aspects of the business activities, recommending changes to make those activities more efficient, and coordinating the implementation of those changes.
The Business Analyst is also responsible for identifying where and how automation could improve existing business processes, and for managing the implementation of that automation.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:a) Serve as the conduit between the business users and the technical staff in the ICT department and associated external organisations.b) Liaise with managers and users of existing systems to understand the business requirements and the existing business processes and procedures.c) Coordinate their planned work with the overall business improvement plan created by the Corporate Support Department.d) Identify areas for improvement by analysing the existing processes, discussing the requirements with management and operators, and comparing the business processes with those used in other organisations.e) Recommend improvements to business processes to cut out unnecessary steps, remove duplicated or wasted effort and reduce the time and effort needed to complete those processes.f) In conjunction with the ICT department and suppliers of IT systems, specify and document the IT solutions needed to automate business processes.g) Manage the projects to implement changes to business processes and any associated automation of business processes.h) Document and enumerate the outcome and the resources used before and after the proposed changes and automation of business processes.i) Supervise and coordinate the work of the team assigned to each of the projects.j) Undertake all responsibilities relating to information management, data quality, information sharing, intelligence and information security in accordance with the ACPO Guidance on the Management of Police Information in order to achieve compliance with the Statutory Code of Practice.k) Be accountable for all Health and Safety issues, to include risk assessment, pertaining to the postholder’s area of responsibility in order to fulfil the statutory obligations of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
