Are you an IT Manager or IT Network Manager working within schools/education?
Are you looking to take the next step in your career into an Academy IT Manager or IT Network Manager position?
We have a newly created position to join an education institution as an IT Manager. You will lead and develop the IT operation for the trust focussing on managing day-to-day function, and increasing performance and productivity. You will work closely with the IT Director to develop and implement the IT strategy.
Salary: £38k - £42k base plus great benefits. 35-hour working week over 4.5 days
Location: Walthamstow, East London
Some day-to-day duties:
- Ensuring you have an oversight of the security, care, and availability of the Academy IT infrastructure, fittings, and equipment.
- Ensure technical responsibility for the smooth running of the Academy network including servers, infrastructure, and software.
- Maintain the Active Directory network.
- Ensure the security and integrity of the network through careful monitoring and planned maintenance.
- To maximize efficiency, share technical responsibility in configuring and expanding the whole Academy network.
- Ensure that network hardware/software throughout the Academy is secure, both physically in terms of firewalls and the use of strong password
- Minimise risk and increase IT performance
- Provide front-line support for staff and students Alongside the other members of the IT Team.
- Provide end-of-line support for all problems relating to the use of IT
- Provide classroom training sessions to staff and students about software and hardware
- Provide delivery and planning of IT training for staff.
- Advise the business on how emerging network technologies could be applied with benefit to the Academy learning and teaching agenda.
- Management of department finances/budgets.
What will you bring to the table?
- You’ll have strong experience in IT Networks
- You’ll be friendly and versatile, with the ability to communicate on all levels. You will be a key stakeholder in the business operations and work closely with as part of the management and SLT.
- Ideally, Degree educated and hold Level 3 in a recognised IT qualification
- Strong knowledge of Office365/Azure/Entra AD
- Knowledge of different operating systems such as Windows, Apple OS and IOS, and Linux. X I
- Expert knowledge of a range of applications and systems including by not limited to server virtualisation, cloud technologies, and wired and wireless networks.
