In short: Classic IT Project Manager required to manage 3rd party offshore suppliers in modernising client engagement solutions. You'll be managing the relationship between the offshore architects, developers and testers so experience of offshore suppliers is essential.

The Digitalised Code Management (DCM) Programme is responsible for digitalising the Grid Code in order to provide a more user-friendly experience tailored to the diverse needs of our customers and seamless integration with the Digital Engagement Platform (DEP).

A simpler whole system Grid Code will speed up how important decisions are taken throughout the connection journey. It will provide more targeted and customised information when our customers need it.

Job Purpose:

The primary role of the Senior Project Manager will be to support the control and delivery of Digitalised Code Management Programme (DCM) to meet stakeholder requirements such that all budget, risk, specification, project timescales, reporting obligations and stakeholder and business objectives are met in full.

We require a Senior Project Manager to work with an established Agile delivery team made up of highly skilled dedicated engineering resources and third-party suppliers. They will have responsibility for monitoring and ensuring continuous delivery and support of the Digitalised Code Management Programme.

The project manager will be required to liaise with Delivery and Engineering leads & Product Managers to support the delivery of key requirements through prioritised and planned releases of the Digitalised Code Management programme.

Reporting to the DCM (Digitalised Code Management) Senior Delivery Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for the financial tracking and forecasting of the project, ensuring that the project remains within an agreed budget.

The project manager will also be responsible for RAID management and weekly status updates and monthly reporting on the project to the Programme Management Board.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide Leadership and direction to the project utilising proven Project management skills and act as Subject Matter Expert for project financials, monitoring and forecasting.
  • Financial management and budget tracking
  • Programme reporting to Governance and Portfolio boards
  • Management of any critical dependencies with other projects and programme.
  • Management of risks, plans, costs and resourcing within a multi-supplier eco-system throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contributes to the timely completion and approvals of product deliverables
  • Management of project plans to identify ownership and track completion of high-level deliverables to meet deadlines in response to client requirements and success metrics.
  • Maintain and manage risk, issues, actions & dependencies tools.
  • Ensure the investment proposals are accurate
  • Act as a change agent, driving improvements to existing processes and procedures to deliver value

Qualifications

  • Relevant industry certification (e.g. Prince 2, PMI) desirable
  • Experience of delivering agile software projects
  • Experience of Azure DevOps (ADO) and JIRA beneficial
  • Experience building and managing project schedule in Microsoft Project or similar project management tools utilising data-based decision making (GANTT charts, etc)
