Job Description :

We are looking for an IT Project Manager on a 1 year fixed term contract, supporting the transformation of public services. This role is central to managing and executing IT projects that align with the strategic goals. The successful candidate will manage a variety of projects, ensuring they meet internal standards and are executed within budget and timelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to internal governance to ensure projects are aligned with IT budgets and strategic plans.
  • Oversee ‘Project on a Page’ initiatives, supporting Senior Project Managers with comprehensive framework projects managed through the Programme Management Office.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of projects, from initiation to closure, ensuring all project phases are documented and completed successfully.
  • Develop detailed project plans that include quality and risk assessments, maintaining accurate forecasts for project finances and progress.
  • Control the allocation of resources, managing both the operational and capital expenditure against the project budgets. Implement and manage a change control process to evaluate impacts on projects.
  • Work collaboratively with other IT Managers and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and meet project expectations.
  • Guarantee projects are delivered on schedule, within cost constraints, and meet predefined objectives.
  • Conduct formal project closures and reviews to identify and integrate lessons learned, documenting all processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project delivery by analysing past project performances.
  • Uphold and advocate for the IT Services ethos that places customer satisfaction at the forefront, challenging any negative behaviours and setting positive examples.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in IT project management, ideally within a public sector or similar environment.
  • In-depth understanding of project management frameworks and methodologies.
  • Strong organizational leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Skilled in budget management and financial oversight.
  • Effective at managing diverse stakeholder groups and resources.
  • Familiar with standard ICT governance and compliance protocols.
