IT Support Engineer

£25,000-30,000 per annum (DOE)
Job Description:We are seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to provide 1st and 2nd line support to a growing team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for all IT-related issues, helping to ensure that operations continue without interruption. You'll play a key role in maintaining IT infrastructure, supporting users across multiple departments, and troubleshooting a variety of technical issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1st and 2nd line support to all staff, resolving hardware and software issues promptly.
- Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and telephony systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
- Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software.
- Assist in the management of user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory.
- Monitor and maintain backup systems, ensuring data integrity and security.
- Liaise with third-party vendors for escalated issues and hardware replacements.
- Document IT processes and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and accessible.
- Provide end-user training and support on various IT systems and software.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies and best practices to recommend improvements to the IT infrastructure.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in a similar IT support role, providing 1st and 2nd line support.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Office 365.
- Experience with Active Directory, network protocols, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with server management, virtualization technologies, and cloud services.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Knowledge of Azure (beneficial)
- Knowledge of network devices- PCs/laptops/printers
- Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are desirable.
