Job Overview:

As an Apprentice Systems Technician you will be joining the current team to provide direct support for existing customers, particularly the education and healthcare systems using Microsoft Windows systems, including Office 365 and Azure.

As part of this team, you will also learn our flagship Nurse Call / Acoustic monitoring system and be involved in the delivery, configuration and support of these systems. This will be a varied role and will involve visits to customer sites for direct support, support of internal systems and some deployment of new systems.

You will need to be eager to learn and grow, with a keen interest in technology. Paramount for our customers is making the technology work for them, using the available tools to deliver ongoing improvements.

Key Duties:

  • Receive incoming technical support incidents, requests and changes from internal / external customers, capturing full details of their issues/requirements into the incident management system
  • Provide updates and ensure ongoing customer communication is maintained in relation to the above.
  • Resolution of incidents ranging from simple password resets to complex server queries.
  • Escalation of issues to senior team members as necessary.
  • Work with other internal teams in meeting project objectives, from inception, to delivery, and ongoing support.

Key Requirements:

  • Understanding of Windows operating systems / desktop environments e.g. Windows 10/11
  • Experience troubleshooting Microsoft office e.g., 365, 2016, 2019(Excel, Word, Access etc)
  • Solid understanding of PC set up and configuration
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to travel to other sites on occasion (Full, clean driving licence)

Nice to have's / things you will learn:

  • Office 365 administration 
  • Active Directory Administration 
  • Network troubleshooting
  • TCP/IP and general WAN / LAN troubleshooting - Windows Server in a Hyper-V environment 
  • Exposure to working within the care sector

Entry Requirements:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
