Job Overview

I am seeking a skilled IT Technician to join my Black Country based client. This role will be key in providing technical support to a growing business, and will ensure their IT systems operate smoothly.

I require a proactive individual who can communicate effectively with users and prioritise & resolve issues efficiently. The IT Technician will work with various operating systems & programs, including Office 365, and will be instrumental in maintaining computer hardware and software.

Responsibilities

  • Provide IT support to users across the organisation, resolving network, hardware and software issues promptly.
  • Troubleshoot software problems and implement effective solutions
  • Install, maintain and configure computer hardware, ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly.
  • Support the transition towards company-wide use of AI and cloud based technology.
  • Setting up new starters/users, providing guidance on equipment & software use.
  • Updating/maintaining the company intranet and SharePoint.
  • Provision of training to users
  • Identifying potential data security risks and maintaining a safe working environment
  • Build & repair laptops, set up desk tops and manage company mobile usage.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks on IT equipment to prevent potential problems.
  • Collaborate with staff across the business to improve processes and enhance service delivery.

Experience & Personal Qualities

  • Proven experience in a similar IT support role, demonstrating strong technical support skills.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting software issues across various platforms
  • Familiarity with computer hardware components, including cabling and servers, and their functionality.
  • Demonstrable ability to prioritise and attend to business-critical issues
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with users at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • An "enabling" attitude that enhances the team's ability to add value.
