Our client is seeking a Junior Analytics EngineerLong term contract, 12 months initially and the position will be hybrid and will require weekly visits to site in London.A snippet of what you'll be doing:
- Design, build and implement POCs, prototypes and full-fledged UX solutions and strategies
- Communicate with key stakeholders to drive clarification of requirements and to promote UX designs and solutions
- Support the design, e.g., by analyzing user journeys and drive towards simplification and automation
- Coach and develop other UX analysts
Skills and requirements:
- Knowledge of and experience with design & prototyping tools
- Knowledge in QlikSense & Qlik Cloud Analytics to deliver complex, fast moving datasets to high value trading teams (Around 5 years)
- Knowledge of authoring/troubleshooting SQL/Azure/Databricks queries
- Knowledge and application of general and tool specific connectivity, data modeling, source data procurement strategies (Database, import/cached), security configuration, performance tuning, usage of right visuals, layout optimization, mobility, scripting and integrating advanced analytics into visualization tools
- Must have experience in working with AGILE, KANBAN methodologies. Able to run a sprint
Nice to have Skills
- Gas/Power Trading knowledge - Short-term trading, physical assets trading (CCGT, Wind, Solar, Battery)
- Risk - Modelling & understanding of risk & risk management.
- Quantitative Skills - Statistical methods to check and investigate numerical data for practical insights.
- Commodity Modelling - Energy (power, gas, environmental products) and meteorology.
- Skilled at one of the following secondary visualization tools - (at least one of the following - (1) Power BI and Azure Analysis Services (AAS), (2) Spotfire, (3) SAP Analytics Cloud)
- Knowledge of cloud data engineering technologies
