Junior Buyer – Sheffield - £26,000 - £29,000

Elevation Recruitment Group are excited to be working with a dynamic manufacturing business in their search for a Junior Buyer to join their team.

Working under the guidance of the Purchasing Manager, you will work closely with suppliers to control the flow of materials both in and out of production to meet customer demand

Junior Buyer Duties:

• Raise purchase orders from the daily MRP print out including all consumables, non-inventory and subcontract work, in line with demand requirements and internal policy
• Actively monitor upcoming deliveries and expedite overdue items with Suppliers
• Support the Planning function with demand analysis to validate MRP signals and align schedules with requirements
• Negotiate and maintain favourable terms and conditions of supply
• Produce and report on weekly and monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Attend and support other key departments for both new and existing projects customer projects, advising on procurement options and best policies to meet customer targets and test deadlines
• Promptly resolve invoice discrepancies, verify goods receipt details, order requirements and price
• Develop and maintain performance measures for cost savings, advising monthly actual achieved and future potential savings

Hours: 8am – 4pm (Monday – Thursday) and 8am-1pm (Friday)

Required skills & experience:

• Experience of a range of relevant supply chain processes
• Knowledge of MRP systems
