This role is a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract.

What’s it all about?

The Commercial team develops the end of end customer experience through using insight and intelligence to drive the design and development of propositions and products that are delivered digitally. Atom’s approach is highly customer orientated, with an emphasis on transparency, fairness and value. The Commercial team ensures customer insight and feedback informs decisions, alongside wider market dynamics in the core objective of Atom’s products being differentiated and ahead of the market.

Credit risk management across the entire customer journey is delivered by the 1st line Credit Risk Strategy team overseen by the 2nd line Credit Risk team.

The Junior Credit Analyst will support the ongoing review and oversight of credit performance across all lending products. The role holder will be responsible for reporting and analysis of lending product performance creating insight that will inform the development of our credit strategy in order to maximise the profitability of the lending portfolio. The role will require a proactive individual capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

  • Perform comprehensive, regular credit reporting and investigative analysis on new business and portfolio management.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of credit risk MI to ensure the effective and ongoing monitoring of all credit risk strategies.
  • Support the development of credit risk strategies, including credit and affordability decisions, to support the business`s growth agenda whilst maintaining control of credit quality and performance.
  • Assist with the implementation and monitoring of champion:challenger tests to progressively refine lending strategies
  • Ensure that all credit data and credit models are thoroughly and accurately documented and tested.
  • Develop strong relationships with key business stakeholder teams.
  • Work in conjunction with external parties e.g. credit bureaux, property valuers to identify data sources to support development of new business strategies.
  • Undertake ad hoc work as directed by line manager from time to time.

What do you need?

  • Understanding of data systems and infrastructures
  • Programming, database extraction or reporting experience
  • Strong data interpretation/interrogation skills, including data manipulation and analysis techniques, to create meaningful insight
  • Strong MS Office skills, in particular MS Excel
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proactive, hardworking, flexible and able to work under own initiative
