Junior Data Engineer - Manchester

My client is a well-established software house in Manchester who are going through a big growth phase and as part of a large recruitment drive are now looking to hire a Junior Data Engineer into the team.

The role is based in Trafford Park, walking distance from tram stops and offers free onsite parking. The position offers hybrid working on a with one or two days in the office, they are a really flexible company to work for.

As a Junior Data Engineer you will be responsible for designing, developing and owning data feeds which enhance the value of the current client offering.

You will be involved in creative and detailed analysis of the data reported from millions of mobile devices located across the globe to determine what is possible, what is feasible and input into the client's product roadmap.

The role involves using Big Data technologies such as AWS, Apache Spark and Amazon Athena as well as this you shall be working in the following tech environment:

• Python
• Java
• Scala
• SQL

We are looking for a candidate with perhaps some commercial experience in a BI, Data Analysis or Date Engineering role, or a graduate with a computer science degree and an understanding of programming languages such as Python or Java.
