Junior Design Engineer - Pertemps Kettering : Job Details

Job Title: Junior Design EngineerLocation: KetteringSalary: £28,000Duration: Permanent ContractHours: 37.5 hrs per week                           On behalf of our client, Pertemps are recruiting for a Junior Design Engineer in Kettering.Responsibilities:As a Junior Design Engineer, you will be required to carry out the following:

• Provide a mechanical design and development capability
• Produce drawings, prototypes and develop new concepts
• Assist with improving the safety of our existing products to ensure CE compliance
• Assist with creation and maintenance of Technical File documentation
• Assist with creation and maintenance of component information within ERP system
• Assist with preparation of prototypes, conducting tests and analysing results
• Assist with developing modern, state of the art designs and produce drawings for new equipment and modifications on existing products
• Provide technical support to production customers when required
• Ensure design projects meet technical brief including compliance, target, product cost and on time completion

About You:Candidates will be required to have the following:

• Recently graduated with a minimum of HNC preferably HND or degree in
• Engineering or an Engineering discipline
• Completed a placement or have worked in or completed an apprenticeship in an engineering environment
• Able to work as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
• Aspiration to work in a design environment and gain experience working with design software and engineering practices

Desirable:

• Knowledge of CE marking and its associated Directives and Standards
• Existing knowledge of our products
• Experience of MRP systems
• Previous experience of or aspirations to learn 3D CAD
