Job Title: Junior Estimator

The Role:As a Junior Estimator, you will play a key role in supporting the Estimating team by compiling cost estimates to provide a client or potential client with products or services within a set timeframe. Working closely with architectural and structural drawings, you will assess material, labour, and equipment requirements and analyse different quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support with obtaining project specific quotations for elements of work. Subcontracted works, (design, fabrication and installation of supporting secondary steelwork) material supply and fabrication (ETFE, Glazing), and others as required
- Support with Take off material schedule and prepare estimate using appropriate estimating system
- Keep existing contracts up to date, including making amendments, providing new cost estimates, and maintaining communication with the client
- Adhere to company standards and guidelines when analysing and providing estimations; focus on maximising profit and customer satisfaction, while minimising any potential risks to the company
- Keep detailed records of all estimation documentation
- Support with summarising and tracking the differences between Novum's tender submission and the tender specification and ensure these are included as part of the tender submission
- Ensure that quotes/costs for review are accurate and to the required spec
- Prepare cost sheets and submission documents for review by Senior Estimators, Estimating/BID Manager
- Ensure that directly issued tenders are followed up with the client, try to build the client relationship between the estimating team and Novum
- Support with ensuring quotes are submitted on or prior to the deadline given
- Attend internal and external meetings as required and take minutes where required
What We're Looking For:
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including Maths and English
Experience & Skills:
- Working knowledge of steel, glass, and cladding (desirable).
- Proficiency in MS Office packages (essential).
- Strong numerical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Motivated, adaptable, and cooperative attitude, ready to support team goals.
