My client a City law firm are currently seeking a dedicated Legal Cashier to join their team, primarily focusing on routine cashiering tasks with an emphasis on the office account. This role involves working closely with the Cashiering Manager and Senior Cashier, providing cover in their absence, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Perform daily Office Account bank reconciliations and Client Account bank reconciliations when required.
- Review Office and Client accounts online daily, making relevant postings into 3E.
- Process all anticipated disbursement invoices and purchase currency when necessary.
- Reconcile the firm’s IPO, WIPO, and OHIM accounts, as well as the firm’s credit card account.
- Process CHAPS payments as required and ensure compliance with the SRA Rules.
- Report any breaches or potential breaches to the Cashier Manager promptly.
- Answer queries from partners, fee earners, and legal assistants.
- Provide cover for the Cashier Manager, Senior Cashier, and Accounts Payable during their absence.
- Review and post all bills and credit notes within 24 hours of receipt.
- Handle transfers of time and disbursements between matters, edit time entries as necessary, and perform ad-hoc duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Prior junior legal experience, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
- Strong numeracy skills, accuracy, and a high level of attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated with the ability to organise own work with minimal supervision.
- Good time management and flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to build and maintain working relationships and operate effectively as part of a team.
The role is 3 days in the office and 2 from home with some fantastic benefits.
