Junior Product Designer - KANDOO : Job Details

Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 (for 4 days a week)Location: Sway, Hampshire, SO41 6DAHours: 30 hours per week (Monday to Thursday)About the role: Kandoo are looking for a highly-motivated, confident and creative Junior Designer to join their team. This role is the perfect opportunity for someone at the early stages of their design career; you’ll gain invaluable experience, utilising your creativity and design skills in an established, successful company that works with both small boutique clients and well-known multi-national brands. Working closely with our experienced Project Managers, you’ll assist in the development and manufacturing of bespoke, branded products. Initially, this will involve producing promotional materials and product photography whilst also playing a supportive and administrative role on client projects, with the potential to take on more responsibilities and eventually work independently on your own projects.Main Duties:

• Product Photography - Capturing high-quality images of products.
• Designing Promotional Literature - Creating both physical and electronic promotional materials.
• Proposal Development - Formulating proposals for new clients and projects.
• Market and Product Research - Conducting market and product research to support client briefs.
• Sample Development - Designing and requesting samples, catalogue, review, and amend.
• Client Meetings - Attending client meetings with Project Managers to discuss project requirements and provide updates.
• Supplier Enquiries and Quotations - Making pricing enquiries and requesting quotations from suppliers.
• Client Quotation Assistance - Providing assistance in generating quotations for clients.

As the Role Develops:

• Project Management - Raising Purchase Orders, arranging pre-production samples, raising invoices, and creating shipping documents.
• Product Manufacturing Monitoring - Monitoring the product manufacturing process to ensure timely delivery and adherence to high-quality standards.
• Supplier Liaison - Liaising with suppliers to monitor their performance and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Quality Control and Inspections - Monitoring quality control measures and arranging inspections.
• Accounts Liaison - Liaising with accounts to ensure timely payment of invoices and timely release of goods for shipment.
• Freight Forwarding and Logistics - Liaising with freight forwarders and the China office to book sea / air freight, and the production of freight documentation.
• Shipment Monitoring - Monitoring shipments from the Far East to ensure timely delivery and notify Project Managers of any delays.

Key Attributes:

• Good Experience across the Adobe Creative software suite. Primarily: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
• Comfortable working in MS Office
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at a time
• Ability to produce artwork from initial brief up to the finished product
• Excellent typographical and layout skills
• A strong attention to detail with a good sense of colour and style
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proactive, well organised and self-motivated
• Eager to learn and develop
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
• Artistic skills
• Analytical skills

Candidates will ideally also hold a relevant degree within graphic arts, have 3D CAD experience and a strong awareness of current fashions and trends. Benefits:This is a part-time role, working Monday - Thursday, giving you a long weekend, every week! The salary advertised is the pro-rata salary, the full time equivalent would be £28,750 - £31,250. In addition to salary, you'll be eligible to participate in the Company's pension scheme, and have access to the Profit Share scheme after one year of employment. The office is located in the heart of the New Forest, with great transport links. The nearest train station is less than a 10 minute walk and there is parking on site should you travel by car.
