Junior Shopify Frontend Developer - Kameo Recruitment Ltd : Job Details

Are you a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Front-End Developer? Do you have a foundational understanding of Shopify development? If you are eager to learn and grow, with a basic understanding of Javascript (Vanilla), SCSS, Liquid, and HTML then we would love to speak to you!!!

This role is perfect for a recent graduate or someone early in their career, ready to contribute to exciting projects and develop their skills in a supportive environment.

Hybrid working - 3 days in the office per week

Duties & Responsibilities of the Junior Shopify Frontend Developer:

• Assist in the development, enhancement, and maintenance of custom Shopify themes.
• Work with designers and senior developers to create responsive, high-performance web pages.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Implement and optimise web designs using SCSS, HTML, and Vanilla Javascript.
• Customise Shopify functionalities using Liquid templates and scripts under guidance.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and optimise for mobile devices
• Troubleshoot and resolve front-end issues and bugs with support from the team
• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies

What you will need to succeed as Junior Shopify Frontend Developer:

Essential:

• Some experience or training in front-end development, with a portfolio or examples of work.
• Basic knowledge of Javascript (Vanilla), SCSS, Liquid, and HTML.
• Understanding of Shopify’s platform, including custom theme development and Shopify’s templating language, Liquid.
• Familiarity with responsive and adaptive design principles
• Basic understanding of version control systems such as Git
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Good communication and collaboration skills

Desirable:

• Experience with front-end frameworks and libraries is a plus
• Basic knowledge of SEO best practices
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Interest in learning about third-party integrations
• Awareness of performance optimisation using core web vitals.
