KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant - Hammersmith & Fulham

A nurturing and culturally diverse Primary School in the Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham are looking to recruit a KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant.

As a KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant you will be working with children in Year 2 who have Autism, and who are pre-verbal. You will provide academic, social and emotional support as a KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant, working with children on a 1:1 and / or small group basis.

The school uses a model of experiential learning, which allows children to learn through experience. This links different aspects of the curriculum together, giving children a rich and varied learning experience. Children are proud of their learning community and genuinely enjoy the experience of learning. The use of technology and media is a strength of the school.

KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant

• KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant
• Working in KS1 - Year 2
• Supporting children with autism who are pre-verbal
• Working with children on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Working alongside a range of professionals including class teacher & SENCo
• Long Term & Full Time - entire academic year
• £85 - £100 per day (depending on experience)
• Good academic record (degree ideal but not essential, A levels & GCSEs)
• Good understanding of SEN is required
• Experience in a previous role, or personal experience with SEN, would be ideal
• Passionate about supporting children with SEN
• Calm and compassionate nature
• Ability to demonstrate patience and sensitivity
