KS1 Teaching AssistantLocation: Shrewsbury, ShropshireContract Type: Full-time, Temporary/PermanentStart Date: ASAPAspire People are currently seeking a KS1 Teaching Assistant to join our team in supporting a specialist school in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. The school provides tailored education for pupils with a range of additional needs, including Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD), Visual Impairment (VI), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).Key Responsibilities:* Provide 1:1 and group support to pupils with a variety of special educational needs.* Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and accessible lessons tailored to the needs of each pupil.* Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.* Support pupils in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour.* Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.Requirements:* Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within a specialist or SEN setting.* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to meeting the diverse needs of pupils.* Strong communication and teamwork skills.* Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEN Training) are desirable but not essential.* A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).Why Aspire People?* Competitive rates of pay.* A dedicated and supportive consultant.* The opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs.If you are a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with a commitment to inclusive education, we would love to hear from you.
