**Job Title**: Laboratory Team Leader**Location**: Carlisle**Shift Pattern**: Rotating, Sunday - Thursday---**About the Role**:We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Laboratory Team Leader to oversee our Microbiological Food Testing at our UKAS approved site in Carlisle. The successful candidate will lead a team of laboratory professionals in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a focus on ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in food products. With a hands-on approach, you will foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the team, ensuring all operational goals and targets are met.**Key Responsibilities**:- Manage and coordinate a team of laboratory technicians to conduct accurate and timely microbiological testing on food products.- Ensure adherence to UKAS standards, laboratory protocols, and safety regulations.- Develop and implement efficient shift patterns to maximise productivity and maintain high-quality results.- Manage resources effectively, including the scheduling of personnel and the procurement of laboratory supplies.- Monitor testing processes and results, taking corrective actions when necessary to maintain the integrity of the data.- Keep up with advancements in microbiological testing and food safety standards to maintain a state-of-the-art laboratory environment.**Requirements**:- Proven experience as a team leader or supervisor in a laboratory setting, with a preference for those with experience in a food manufacturing/lab environment.- A degree in microbiology, food science, or a related field is preferred. - In-depth knowledge of food safety, microbiological testing methods, and UKAS accreditation standards.- Excellent organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.- Experience working in a rotating shift pattern and the flexibility to adapt to changing work schedules.You will be joining a team that is at the forefront of food safety and quality, working with a leading company that is committed to providing a safe and inclusive working environment.
