Lead Operative - GXO Logistics : Job Details

We are looking for a Lead Operative to join our team in West Thurrock. In this role, you will support Team Leaders and ensure smooth operations within our recycling warehouse for a leading supermarket.

You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, on the shift pattern of ‘4 on 4 off’, covering the hours of 18:00-06:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Support Team Leaders with the daily supervision of operatives and agency staff in line with operational requirements
• Ensure systems are utilised to enable the operation to run on a daily basis
• Work with Team Leaders to ensure that the shift runs according to set targets, deadlines, and customer requirements 
• Perform various warehouse operative tasks such as pushing and pulling cages, sorting and unloading recycling packaging, stacking and restacking plastic pallets

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Previous experience in similar role within logistics essential
• Excellent IT skills including MS Office Apps
• Clear and effective communication with all stakeholders
• Flexibility in your approach – we do have peak seasons!
