Lead UX/Product Designer - 12 month contract - Up to £500 a day - Remote working

My client, an award winning digital design agency is currently looking to recruit a Lead UX/Product Designer with previous FS or Fintech experience for a 12 month contract. As a key contributor in this role, you will design intuitive and engaging user interfaces that shape digital products. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll craft seamless, user-centered experiences that align with both business objectives and user needs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design Leadership - Define and drive the UX vision, ensuring consistency and usability across all digital products.
  • User Research & Insights - Leverage qualitative and quantitative research to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points, translating insights into actionable design solutions.
  • Experience Design - Develop user journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs to enhance usability and engagement.
  • Strategic Thinking - Align design solutions with business goals and technical constraints, balancing user needs with scalability and feasibility.
  • Collaboration & Communication - Work closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and stakeholders to translate ideas into impactful product experiences.
  • Iteration & Testing - Conduct usability testing, analyze data, and iterate on designs to continuously improve product performance.
  • Design System & Standards - Maintain and evolve design systems to ensure consistency and efficiency across the product ecosystem.

Key skills:

  • Experience: Previous experience in UX/Product Design, with a proven track record in designing digital products within Banking or Fintech.
  • Tools: Advanced proficiency with Figma for design and collaboration.
  • Research & Testing: Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and applying data-driven design decisions.
  • Collaboration: Strong ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and business teams.
  • Problem-Solving: A strategic mindset with a passion for solving complex user and business challenges.
  • Communication: Excellent storytelling and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale effectively.
