We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our client Ofsted rated 'Good' primary school based in Gosport (PO12). If you have a passion for helping children thrive in their learning journey, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! While experience in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Special Educational Needs (SEN) is an advantage, it is not essential. More importantly, we are seeking someone who is empathetic, resilient, proactive, and dedicated to our pupils' success, with a great sense of humour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Deliver small group interventions to enhance learning outcomes
- Offer general classroom support as needed
- Collaborate with teaching staff to adapt resources and tasks, ensuring all pupils can access learning
- Assist in lesson planning and implementation
- Help with testing, assessment, and tracking pupil progress against learning targets
- Work alongside external agencies and apply their guidance
- Supervise playtime/lunchtime activities
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting children with complex behavioural needs
- Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Has a positive attitude, a sense of humour, and high expectations for pupil achievement
- Is able to work independently and take initiative
- Is patient, calm, well-organised, and compassionate
- Brings enthusiasm, energy, and commitment to the role
- Can build strong, supportive relationships with children
- Prior experience in SEND is preferred but not required

- Rate of pay: £13.09 per hour
