The Role: learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a motivated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to start in September. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored assistance to students, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN). This role is crucial in helping students overcome barriers to learning and reach their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN.
  • Assisting the class teacher in implementing personalized learning plans.
  • Supporting students in developing their social, emotional, and academic skills.
  • Helping to differentiate lesson content to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Monitoring and reporting on student progress and well-being.
  • Preparing and organizing learning materials and resources.
  • Assisting with classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Supporting students during transitions and on school trips.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN, is highly desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special educational needs are advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A genuine passion for helping students succeed.
