Learning Support Assistant (SEN) - Waltham Forest - Primary School
Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive and welcoming primary school in Waltham Forest, working closely with children who require extra support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, and Speech & Language difficulties
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning plans
- Support children both academically and emotionally, promoting inclusion and confidence in the classroom
- Assist in creating a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
- Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with SEN in a primary school setting (desirable but not essential)
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
