Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Gorton, Manchester

Pay Rates: £12.83 TO £14.83 an hour

Shift Patterns: Monday to Friday

Reeson education are working closely with a Special needs school in Gorton, Manchester who are looking to find an experienced and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant specialising in SEN support. This is a full-time, long-term role to start in as soon as possible.

Learning Support Assistant responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs such as Autism, ADHD and Dyslexia
• Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities
• Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school's policy and procedures and Support class teachers with managing behaviour effectively to ensure an engaging and safe learning environment
• Organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment
• Observe pupil performance and pass observations on to the class teacher

Learning Support Assistant Qualifications/experience:

• Experience: A minimum of 3 months' work/volunteer experience with children or young people.
• Qualifications: Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant/childcare.
• Skills: Excellent communication skills, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, teachers, and parents.
• Attributes: A passion for supporting children's education, a proactive approach, and a willingness to adapt to different school environments.
• Safeguarding: A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with a willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

This role is Monday to Friday. The Learning Support Assistant position is on a long-term basis with the chance to move onto a school contract.
