About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate Learning Support Assistant to work full-time in a 1-form entry mainstream primary school in Islington. This role involves supporting KS1 pupils during term time only, starting in January.

You will:

  • Support pupils in small groups or on a 1:1 basis.
  • Work with children who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), which may include:
    • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
    • Speech and Language Difficulties
    • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
    • Sensory Processing Needs
    • Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Needs (SEMH)
    • Dyslexia or other learning difficulties.
  • Collaborate with teachers and the SEND team to deliver individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Monitor and track pupil progress, reporting to teachers and parents as needed.
Requirements:
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Experience working in UK schools, ideally with SEND pupils.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A caring, patient, and proactive approach to learning support.
