We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Mentor to join our team at a special educational needs (SEN) school in Oldham. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children with special educational needs, helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and group support to students with a range of SEN, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning disabilities.
- Assist the classroom teacher in delivering tailored lessons and activities.
- Help students develop key skills, independence, and self-confidence.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Offer emotional support and build strong relationships with students.
- Implement strategies outlined in individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour plans.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH, or learning disabilities.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt to the unique needs of each student.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Teaching Assistant, Health & Social Care, Sports Coaching or similar) are desirable but not essential.
