Learning Support MentorLocation: Special Educational Needs School, OldhamWorking Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pmContract Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Mentor to join our team at a special educational needs (SEN) school in Oldham. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children with special educational needs, helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and group support to students with a range of SEN, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning disabilities.
  • Assist the classroom teacher in delivering tailored lessons and activities.
  • Help students develop key skills, independence, and self-confidence.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Offer emotional support and build strong relationships with students.
  • Implement strategies outlined in individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour plans.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH, or learning disabilities.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt to the unique needs of each student.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Teaching Assistant, Health & Social Care, Sports Coaching or similar) are desirable but not essential.
