Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary: Up to £36,413 (£14,762.02 pro-rata) per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)

About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Lecturer to equip students with the skills they need for their future. This role provides a unique opportunity to deliver outstanding education, foster a passion for learning, and support students in achieving their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Assessment: Deliver and assess a range of courses, ensuring thorough preparation, marking, and SMART target setting to guide student progress.
  • Administration: Complete essential administrative tasks, including registration, attendance, record-keeping, and reporting. Liaise with parents and guardians as needed for students aged 16-18.
  • Curriculum Planning: Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, and ensure compliance with academic and awarding body standards.
  • Career and Academic Preparation: Prepare students for higher education and career success by incorporating vocational and employability skills into the curriculum.
  • Enrichment Activities: Collaborate with course teams to facilitate enrichment activities and promote work experience opportunities.
  • Student Support: Provide guidance and support throughout each student’s academic journey, from enrollment to course completion, maintaining strong communication with students and, where appropriate, parents, schools, and community organizations.
  • Pastoral Care: Manage the academic and pastoral support of student groups, tracking their attendance, punctuality, and academic progress.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in internal quality assurance processes and liaise with accrediting bodies to uphold academic standards.

Key Objectives:

  • Recruit students to the appropriate courses, ensuring a fulfilling learning experience.
  • Deliver consistently excellent teaching and learning.
  • Meet quality assurance standards, including all awarding body requirements.
  • Collaborate with Student Services to provide appropriate student support and escalate issues as needed.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data management in collaboration with the Management Information Services.

Your Role in the Department: Reporting to the Curriculum Manager, you will work within a collaborative curriculum team to share best practices and support each other’s work. You may also participate in cross-departmental projects or working groups to support college initiatives.
