Chichester College Group have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Lecturer in Sport at our Chichester campus. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basisand in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £26,451- £41,247 per annum.

The Lecturer in Sport role:

Chichester College is recruiting for a Lecturer in Sport to undertake teaching and learning on Sports courses whilst ensuring that student needs are met in a responsive way.

The curriculum area offers learners a diverse range of learning opportunities, along with a full range of enrichment, sports, team building and challenging activities.

Key Responsibilities of ourLecturer in Sport:

  • Undertaking teaching and learning related activities, including tutoring, as agreed.
  • Ensuring that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.
  • Undertaking administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.
  • Taking an active role in the achievement of high individual student retention and success rates, meeting or surpassing the relevant targets for each.
  • Developing curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration literacy and numeracy development, and equality and diversity.
  • Understanding personal responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding.
  • Keeping up-to-date with current issues, changes, and policies relating to the educational sector.
  • Participating in marketing activities and promote the College for the purpose of gaining sponsorship, advertising, good public relations and increased recruitment.
  • Undertaking the delivery of literacy and numeracy.

Our ideal Lecturer in Sport should have the below skills and experience:

  • Level 3 (or equivalent) in related subject
  • Any other relevant vocational qualifications
  • Level 2 literacy and numeracy
  • Relevant industrial/commercial/subject experience
  • Working knowledge of Sports
  • An understanding of safeguarding vulnerable groups

Other Requirements:

  • To obtain an appropriate teaching qualification as defined by the Corporation
  • To undertake continuing professional development
  • Evening and weekend work as required
  • To obtain ATLS or QTLS as required
  • Satisfactorily meeting the Group’s employment checks – a Disclosure and Barring Service Check (including any relevant overseas checks), health assessment, references, qualifications and legal entitlement to work in the UK
