A well-established law firm is currently recruiting for a full-time Legal Assistant to join their busy and expanding Residential Conveyancing team, located in Wokingham. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic and supportive environment, assisting experienced solicitors with a variety of legal matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing essential administrative and legal support on a broad caseload, including but not limited to preparing legal documents, managing correspondence, liaising with clients, and ensuring that all necessary paperwork is processed efficiently and accurately. This role will also involve direct client interaction, ensuring a high level of customer service and professionalism. It is a fantastic chance to develop a career in the legal field, gaining valuable experience in residential conveyancing while working alongside skilled legal professionals in a thriving team. Key responsibilities include performing a full range of administrative duties, such as managing and responding to client calls, providing regular updates to clients, estate agents, lenders, and solicitors as necessary. Duties will also involve opening new case files and ensuring full compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, drafting contract packs, handling post-exchange administration, preparing Certificates of Title (COTs), conducting final searches, and managing the submission of Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) forms and applications to the Land Registry (AP1). Addressing Land Registry requisitions will also be part of the role, alongside managing correspondence, performing some dictation tasks, and keeping case files meticulously updated
To Ensure Your Success
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role within the legal sector, particularly with a strong understanding of Conveyancing processes and procedures. Familiarity with Tikit Partner for Windows would be a significant advantage. This role demands exceptional client care skills and a passion for delivering excellent service. The successful candidate should also demonstrate strong organisational skills, the ability to work as part of a team, and a readiness to handle the demands of a fast-paced legal environment. Proficiency in modern IT systems, both audio and copy typing, diary management, and the ability to multi-task, set priorities, and manage time effectively are essential. Attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work autonomously are critical in maintaining the high standards required in this position.
