This role offers you the chance to join a dynamic legal and business affairs team that serves some of the top non-scripted production brands in the UK. About the RoleYou’ll work closely with senior LBA colleagues to deliver high-quality legal and business affairs guidance to production teams, becoming their trusted advisor. This position involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of agreements essential to non-scripted production, including development, talent, licensing, and distribution contracts. Your expertise will also be crucial in liaising with external legal teams, handling clearance and compliance issues, and navigating legal matters related to broadcaster and streamer policies. Additionally, you’ll support production teams with paperwork for applications, casting, and contributor care, as well as advise on disputes, data protection, and industry regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Provide clear, strategic legal advice and risk mitigation to production teams, anticipating issues and offering solutions.
- Draft, negotiate, and review production agreements, including option agreements, location agreements and financing deals.
- Advise on compliance, clearance, and content legal matters.
- Keep up to date with regulatory developments, collaborating with legal colleagues and escalating complex issues as needed.
Qualifications
- Excellent experience in non-scripted television production.
- Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills, with an ability to communicate commercial advice clearly.
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, stay calm under pressure, and forge strong working relationships.
- A solid understanding of compliance, IP, and commercial law in TV production.
