LEGAL COUNSEL - DIGITAL MEDIA & PUBLISHINGCOMMERCIAL CONTRACTS, c.2-5 YEARS' PQE1 YEAR MATERNITY COVER, START SEPTEMBERLONDON & HYBRID We are looking for a great mid-level lawyer to join our client's legal team on a 1 year fixed term contract. This is a very well established, listed business in the digital media space. Their offering includes publishing, events, market intelligence and consultancy and it is a very friendly and collaborative business. Reporting directly to the brilliant GC, you will be part of a small, high performing legal team. You will have the opportunity to work on a broad commercial contracts focussed role and make a significant impact. You will review, draft, negotiate and manage commercial contracts with customers, suppliers and other third parties, work with the Head of Legal to develop and roll out new template agreements, terms and conditions, policies and procedures, support the business on other legal and regulatory requirements, (including, for example: ESG, anti-bribery and corruption, data protection, advertising etc) and manage instructions to external counsel.The successful candidate will:
- be a qualified Solicitor in England and Wales with c.2-5+ years PQE.
- have strong academics and qualifications.
- ideally have completed training at a City or regional firm.
- have commercial law expertise and experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts (mainly) and also ideally across matters such as data protection, intellectual property, technology, corporate and/or employment law.
- ideally have some previous in-house experience, either from a secondment or previous in-house role .
- have a genuine interest in working in the media sector.
