Avocet Commercial Careers is currently recruiting for an experienced Legal Support Assistant to join a dynamic and rapidly growing team in a key support role. This is a great opportunity for someone to build on their previous administrative or secretarial experience and will offer lots of opportunities for development as the team continues to grow in this specialist area of law in Islamic Finance

Responsibilities of the Legal Support Assistant

  • Diary management: organise travel, meetings, and support events
  • Manage and take calls on behalf of Lawyers.
  • Assist Lawyers with billing procedures, cash collection, expenses, and credit control
  • File opening and maintenance, terms of business letters, instruction letters, ID checks etc.
  • File management to ensure compliance with the firm's practices and procedures including: Lexcel, Code of Conduct, and AML
  • Administrative tasks relating to business development including client research, marketing lists, external invitations, preparing resources, and tracking business development activity.

Requirements for the Legal Support Assistant

  • Able to support Lawyers and the team proactively, understanding their support needs
  • Able to interact with clients, building positive relationships
  • Confident prioritisation skills and attention to detail 
  • Excellent organisational skills, able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent IT skills across MS Office, and a willingness to learn new IT / Tech packages.
