We are recruiting a full-time, Teaching Assistant for a lovely primary school based in Chester. There could be the option of securing a permanent contract for the right person.

Your job role as a Teaching Assistant would be general classroom assistant duties, as well as 1:1 with children with special educational needs and also small group work.

We are looking for people who have strong behaviour management, experience in SATS support, and strong curriculum knowledge in Maths and English.

As aTeaching Assistant you will be required to have knowledge and experience with the following;

- Strong Math's and English knowledge- Experience with children with additional needs such as; speech and language, autism, non-verbal etc- To have experience in a UK nursery or school based setting

Teaching Assistant role & responsibilities:

  • Use specialist skills/training/experience to support pupils and enhance their learning and so progress
  • Undertake programmes linked to local and national learning strategies eg. Literacy, numeracy, recording achievement and progress and feeding back to the teacher
  • Prepare, maintain, and use equipment/resources required to meet the lesson plans/relevant learning activity and assist pupils in their use
  • To work with small groups of children and to take responsibility for their learning

Non-negotiables:

  • Previous experience of working with children aged 0-11 in a voluntary or paid capacity
  • Knowledge of the Statutory Framework for the KS2 Stage and the National Curriculum
  • Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) Level 1 upwards
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
