Title: Liability Insurance Claims handler (EL & PL)

Salary: Up to £38,000 per year plus benefits

Location: Leeds

Rota: Monday - Friday

Hours: 9am - 5pm | 37.5 Hours per week

Term: Full Time / Permanent

Work style: Hybrid

UK Residents only (Full right to work) with UK Experience will be considered

Innov8 Agency Ltd are proud to be recruiting Liability Claims handler for our national and international Insurance Client based in Leeds.

The ideal candidates for consideration will be from a liability insurance claims background, as well as candidates with transferable personal injury insurance claims experience.

Role outline:

The role of the Liability Claims Handler is to efficiently handle Employers Liability & Public Liability (EL & PL) claims for both personal injury and third-party property damage. While not essential, experience of all 3 UK legal jurisdictions would be beneficial as would experience in other areas of claim’s handling.

The successful candidate will manage an allocated caseload, completing enquires in relation to policy indemnity, legal liability and quantum, reporting to clients and ensuring that claims are handled proactively in accordance with the handling philosophy of Casualty Claims Solutions and their clients.

This exciting opportunity will see the successful candidate working as part of a dedicated team providing a first-class proactive claims handling service to major clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with Insurers, Policyholders and Brokers.
  • Investigation of allocated claims from the desk, or via referral to a field adjuster for site investigation where appropriate.
  • Obtaining all necessary evidence and relevant documentation.
  • Determining appropriate actions for the resolution of the case.
  • Preparation of detailed reports, where required, providing advice on policy indemnity, legal liability, quantum and tactics.
  • Negotiating settlement where appropriate, within agreed authority limits.
  • Corresponding with all parties professionally to proactively progress the case to conclusion.
  • Handling all cases in accordance with the client’s requirements by referral to documented procedures at all times.
  • Maintaining a proper reserve at all times by regular review.
  • Keeping updated on any technical changes relevant to your role. This may include participating in training programmes facilitated by the company
  • Flexibility to undertake rare overnight stays may be part of the role.

Essential requirements

  • Experience handling EL (Employers Liability) & PL (Public Liability) claims
  • Experience handling personal injury
  • End-to-End Claims Handling
  • Driving license and own car

Desirable requirements:

  • Ideally having handled product and Clinical Negligence
  • Experience handling third-party property damage.
