About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic Library and Digital Lead to play a key role in transforming our libraries into digital and innovative learning spaces. As part of this transformation, you will:

  • As a member of the Library & Digital team, you will provide high-level customer service and support, whether in person or virtually, assisting students across various curriculums to achieve their personal learning goals.
  • Drive the adoption of new and existing digital technologies to enhance teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Support staff in developing their digital skills to deliver a fully blended curriculum.
  • Empower learners by fostering independence and digital proficiency, preparing them for future employment.
  • Champion the Group’s Digital Strategy and Vision of 'leading innovation and skills in our communities.’

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and support the campus Library and Digital team, ensuring they have the necessary training and resources.
  • Manage a resource budget and collaborate with teaching staff to ensure students have access to essential resources.
  • Design and deliver high-quality inductions, training, and support sessions, including Digital Skills, Google, and Study Skills.
  • Organise and support events such as learning lounges that showcase new digital tools and resources.
  • Maintain systems and resources, including Koha and the website, to ensure up-to-date and effective library services.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of training and support sessions, gathering feedback to improve service delivery.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven leadership and management experience within a customer service, library, or educational setting.
  • Strong background in digital technologies and their application in teaching and learning.
  • Experience in delivering high-quality training to groups, adapting content to meet diverse learner needs.
  • Ability to manage budgets effectively and work within financial constraints.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, interpersonal abilities, and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Confidence in supporting learners to develop digital, study, and independent learning skills.
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace, Microsoft applications, and digital learning strategies.
