Linux Administrator Hatfield
We are proud to be partnering with our client, a large scale local organisation boasting over 30,000 unique users as they look to engage a Linux Administrator to join their Technology team due to continued expansion.This is a hands on role and will encompass the implementation, maintenance and support of server and storage infrastructure, operating systems, databases and applications software and web-based service delivery to ensure the robust, reliable, efficient and secure operation their systems and services.Our client is an advocate of ongoing professional development and in addition to the salary offered provide a raft of benefits including approx. 40 days annual leave, a generous pension and much more.You must live within easy commute of site.
Duties will include (but not be limited to):* Installing, configuring and providing upgrades to server and database systems and applications software as required, including server virtualisation* Monitoring and management of systems performance and usage* Testing and implementation of new technologies and services and planning and testing of systems business continuity and disaster recovery arrangements* Development and maintenance of systems documentation
Skills and experience required:* Proven experience as a Linux Administrator or similar role supporting a largescale corporate environment * Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills* Proven knowledge of server operating systems and virtualisation techniques* Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g. OES, CentOS/Rocky, Red Hat, SUSE) and familiarity with network protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)* Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python)* Proven specialist understanding in Active Directory domain * A good understanding of ADFS - Trust Creation, management and administration* Proven specialist understanding Microsoft 365 Administration, Security policy and health monitoring * Specialist understanding of Windows Server OS Patch management and automation * A degree / equivalent Qualification in computing or equivalent expertise and experience
