Loans Administration - Senior Manager/Department Head
Sterling Williams are working alongside a prestigious international bank based in the City of London who are looking to hire Senior capabilities in their Loans Admin department reporting to the Deputy GM. You will assume responsibility for the day-to-day administration of committed and uncommitted loan facilities, with the provision of banking services and back-up operations and with the administration of corporate FX, Fund Investment and Savings Account transactions. You will also provide leadership to the Loan Administration team members and to identify and implement necessary changes in existing policies and processes.
- Ensuring the adequate checking and filing of confirmations, general filing and archiving.
- Investigating and assisting with ad-hoc queries that arise within the department.
- Receiving telephone and written instructions from bilateral customers and acting upon these in the appropriate manner, obtaining authorisation when necessary.
- To assist the Loan Administration Manager(s) and Assistant Manager(s) with the preparation and control of the department’s monthly reporting function.
- To assist with the calculation of settlement figures and liaison with counterparties in respect of secondary loan trades and provide signature for executed Pricing Letters.
- To assume overall responsibility for the Loans Administration Department to maintain accurate repayment schedules.
- To co-ordinate and facilitate the planning of training within the department and to develop the individual roles of all Loan Administration staff.
- To demonstrate a solid understanding of documentation issues and to conduct thorough reviews, raising any administrative matters with the relevant department.
- To ensure that loan facilities and the booking of transactions are accurately and comprehensively booked in the firm’s records.
- To liaise with Loan Administration departments of other banks regarding instructions relating to syndicated loan transactions.
- To monitor the day-to-day administration of loans, deposits and current/savings account movements including the preparation, input and verification of tickets, the calculation, claiming, monitoring and reconciliation of fees and interest, the overall control of fund movement and liaison with staff with regard to the funding of loans, FX and the placement of deposits.
The successful candidate will have experience in managing staff and teams; and help develop and guide their careers. You will have the ability to drive change and improve daily processes in the department, displaying attention to detail and a willingness to take responsibility and ownership in order to resolve problems. You will be expected to work well under pressure and be able to meet strict deadlines as well as having strong organisational and interpersonal skills. They should be self-motivated and willing to assume responsibility for the activities of the department, and will possess excellent listening, verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
