Local Taxation Officer - Service Care Solutions - Legal : Job Details

Service Care Solutions are working alongside a local authorising in Nuneaton and Bedworth who are looking for a Local Taxation Officer to join their team on a temporary basis. Please find a description of the role below. Role: Local Taxation Officer Rate: £26-£30 per hour (Umbrella) Location: Nuneaton and Bedworth Contract: 3 months on going.Key Responsibilities:

• Handle enquiries from the public, businesses, and other agencies via phone, email, in person, or in writing.
• Process refunds for overpaid Council Tax and NNDR.
• Undertake tracing work to locate absconders and prepare cases for write-off.
• Assist with bankruptcy-related matters and manage sundry debt accounts.
• Detect and prevent fraudulent applications for reliefs, discounts, and exemptions.
• Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation and assist with statutory relief determinations.
• Liaise with internal departments and external organisations as needed.
• Strong knowledge of Council Tax and NNDR legislation.
• Experience in customer service and handling financial transactions.
