Pay Mechanism: Direct Pay Mechanism
Pay Rates: £23 - £25 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct advanced diagnostic tests and analyses in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Interpret and report results with accuracy and precision.
- Ensure adherence to quality control and quality assurance protocols.
- Collaborate with medical and healthcare professionals to support patient care.
- Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures as required.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff and trainees.
- Uphold and implement laboratory safety standards and practices.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualification: Degree in Biomedical Science or related field; HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
- Experience: Proven recent experience of at least 1 year in NHS setup in a similar role within a clinical or hospital laboratory.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Personal Attributes: High level of attention to detail; excellent communication skills; ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
Desirable Attributes:
- Additional qualifications or training in specialized areas of biomedical science.
- Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
