As a Logistics Manager, you will collaborate with Project Managers and report to the Senior Project Manager to deliver seamless logistical support. Your key focus will be overseeing supply chain operations, ensuring the efficient movement of plant, equipment, materials and resources to, from and around our projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize the flow of materials, plant, equipment and resources of suppliers to projects.
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies that enhance efficiency, reduce costs to improve project delivery.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of logistics staff, providing training on procedures and best practices where required.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and client requirements.
  • Following the information and security control procedures applicable to the project.
  • Ensuring all documentation meets company and client standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives to improve processes.
  • Producing progress reports where required.
  • Conducting reviews and document audits on subcontractors.
  • Chair regular logistics meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Using digital tools to organise and distribute documents within the company and to clients as required.
  • Liaise with the client’s team and maintain a good working relationship.
  • Ensure logistics objectives are achieved and maintained.

The Person

  • Previous experience (5+ years) in a Logistics Manager role with a detailed working knowledge of logistics and quality management systems.
  • Experience of working in a fast-moving construction environment and supervising a logistics team and the control of plant and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of logistics processes, inventory management, and transportation.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data to support informed decisions.
  • Working knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements and safety standards.
  • Knowledge of construction, waste management, controls and quality management systems.
  • Experience of working in a nuclear construction environment is ideally required but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Proven experience working within a similar role, with experience of compliance within an engineering environment.
