(Office-based or hybrid opportunity (min 2 days per week based in our office in Wallington, Surrey).

Role profile

Reporting to the Head of Long Haul Product, this role is responsible for managing and developing a selection of Newmarket Holidays’ products. The ideal candidate will be capable of taking full commercial ownership of their product portfolio. Responsibility for the product will extend through its entire cycle, from development and rate negotiation, ensuring its operational effectiveness and commercial profitability as well as being in line with customer expectation and agreed satisfaction scores. Experience with contracting and negotiation, extensive product knowledge and an ability to work well with multiple parts of the business are necessary. Prior experience working with Latin America and Asia are an advantage, as well as a strong background in the travel industry.

  • Experience of managing a team with an emphasis on performance management and improvement strategies
  • Proactive and a problem solver who constantly questions processes in the desire to achieve efficiencies
  • Always looking for a technology solution to improve work practices
  • Sound knowledge of the travel industry ideally with previous Product Manager experience
  • Able to drive and be prepared to travel as necessary for site inspections, contracting etc.
  • Excellent negotiator who understands the balance required between quality and price
  • Able to work on several projects and tasks at once, sometimes under pressure and to tight deadlines, without sacrificing attention to detail
  • Highly self-motivated with a real desire to achieve
  • Constantly looking to improve what we do with a dedication to quality and customer service
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Flexible approach to working and adaptable to changing priorities as demands dictate, taking on ancillary tasks as and when required in a good-natured way
  • Analytically minded with strong commercial understanding
  • Good team player with excellent communication skills
  • Experience of working in a fast paced, high pressure, changing environment
  • Technically competent and able to learn quickly
  • Passionate about travel
  • Fluency in a foreign language is an advantage
