Maintenance Engineer (Day Shift) - Industrial and Manufacturing - Permanent - West Midlands
We are working on behalf of one of the most diverse manufacturing companies in Europe looking to expand their West Midlands sites with the recruitment of an experienced Maintenance Engineer. This is an excellent long-term opportunity to join an established British manufacturer with a history of investment and diversification at a point when they are succession planning and future proofing.
As an experienced Maintenance Engineer, you will be able to demonstrate previous knowledge and experience in a skilled maintenance role in relation to electrical/mechanical maintenance engineering and have the ability to maintain Industrial and Manufacturing machinery/equipment within the business through a combination of hands on work and technical skills.
Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the following:
- Maintain all production machinery both electrically and mechanically.
- Ensure maximum uptime of all machinery and process equipment.
- Be responsible for ensuring unplanned stops of production facilities is kept to a minimum.
- Effective maintenance of manufacturing machinery, plant and equipment.
- Develop and execute effective TPM programmes and planned maintenance routines.
- Maximise machine availability to deliver OEE levels in line with company metrics.
- Manage breakdowns and planned servicing of plant and equipment.
- Installation and commissioning of plant and equipment.
- Maintain a high standard of 5S and tool control methods.
- Reading and understanding of electrical, mechanical and fluid drawings.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Maintain records for both internal and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Environmental, Health & Safety legislation.
- Keep accurate records such as work activities, tasks carried out, parts used, etc.
- Work closely with other departments to increase reliability on existing and new equipment.
- Diagnose equipment breakdowns and action repairs.
- Actively support continuous improvement activities throughout the business
Maintenance Engineer should have the following Qualifications Skills/Experience:
- Strong team-working experience, with the drive and flexibility to maintain pace of work.
- A maintenance professional with Health and safety knowledge including risk assessments.
- Experience of electrical/mechanical systems, machinery and equipment.
- Knowledge and experience in a maintenance role in electrical and or facilities maintenance.
- Good initiative with demonstrated time management, prioritisation and organisational skills.
- Current 18 th IEE regulations and some knowledge of PLC Control Systems.
- Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office tools.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong multi-tasking abilities and good problem-solving skills.
- To be highly motivated with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Commitment to continuing professional development.
